One Alarm Fire Destroys Cherry Street Mobile Home

This morning firefighters responded to Cherry Street in the Monmouth Mobile Home Park for a reported mobile home fire. While responding, Kendall Park Fire Department Deputy Chief Rob Cioffi observedĀ a large smoke column in the sky and requestedĀ the 1st alarmĀ be transmitted. Arriving fire units met heavy fire throughout the mobile home.

The fireĀ was discovered shortly after 9 a.m.Ā and quickly destroyed the home. All residents made it out safely and noĀ injuries were reported.Ā Ā Kendall Park Fire Department Chief Chris Perez said 30-foot flames were shooting out of the center of the home when firefighters first arrived. “TheĀ fire was knocked down and under control in about 10 minutes”, Perez said.Ā  An adjacent mobile home along withĀ a number ofĀ RVs and boats parked nearbyĀ also suffered heat damage fromĀ the fire.

The Kendall Park, Kingston, and Monmouth JunctionĀ Fire Departments along with Kendall Park First Aid Squad and the South Brunswick Police DepartmentĀ responded to the scene.Ā  North Brunswick FireĀ Company #2Ā  and Franklin Park Fire Company covered the town while South Brunswick units operated at the scene.
