Motor Vehicle Entrapment Victim Rescued on U.S. 1 N

by | Dec 18, 2018

At 06:50 this morning, we were dispatched to work with the Monmouth Junction Fire Department at a M.V.C. with entrapment on U.S. 1 North near the intersection of Route 522. We responded with Chief 240; Rescue 2 (242) and Special Services 6 (246) all responded. Both Fire Departments worked together using the “Jaws of Life” to remove the roof of the vehicle, so that the victim could be rescued.

Upon arrival, Rescue 2 found the vehicle with the entrapped victim lodged between highway divider and a SUV. The vehicle was already stabilized by MJFV. We quickly set up our equipment and both departments swiftly made cuts while removing the windshield, lift gate, and roof. Members also assisted the EMS to methodically lift the driver out.
