by | Feb 22, 2018

Kingston Volunteer Fire Company #1 is proud to announce the completion of  Fire Fighter I by four of our members, graduating from Somerset County Emergency Training Academy at Hillsborough, NJ. We are extremely happy to welcome them as fully certified firefighters, now nationally recognized. From left to right are: Cristiano Armenti, Isaiah Benjamin, Chief George Luck, Jr., James Calderone, and Cheng-Yu Lee.

The members underwent 210 hours of classes and hands-on training, including wild land fire and certifications for hazardous materials awareness/operation, incident command system 100, and adult CPR. During this semester, Cristiano also completed vehicle extrication technician and along with Cheng-Yu, obtained certification as swift water rescue technician. All members spent their off hours between 1900 and 2200 two nights per week and 8 hours on many weekends to pass the state certification exam. It is a feat that can only be accomplished through determination.

We are also very excited to see their family standing by their sides during the graduation ceremony, celebrating and supporting their achievements. We congratulate them on their accomplishments and thank them for their commitment, dedication, and hard work.
